Who writes Concepts of Finance? 🧠
That would be me - Jason Leonard 👋🏼
I’ve worked in fintech, insurance and tech for over 10 years.
About 12 years ago, I was offered a job with stock options and turned it down because I didn't understand the intricacies of the offer and therefore the potential $ opportunity at play.
Well, the company turned out to be pretty successful, and so did whoever ended up taking that job I turned down.
I missed out on that opportunity because I didn’t know what I didn’t know - when I look back I wish I had even just one person in my life who could have said ‘hang on, let me explain it to you’.
That incident played on my mind a lot in the months after and I realised I had a gap of knowledge that needed filling.
With a thirst to learn more and many years of working in the insurance, tech and fintech sectors, I've come a long way and I love sharing what I've learned with others.
The aim of my newsletter is quite simple - to help you understand financial concepts by breaking them down into plain English, so that you can make more informed financial decisions.
